Casa Belvedere: A Landmark of Italian Culture
Casa Belvedere, The Italian Cultural Foundation, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to preserving, promoting, and celebrating Italian heritage through various cultural and educational activities, programs, and events. Located on Grymes Hill with a view of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and New York Harbor, the 1908 building was originally the Roebling-Stirn family home and became a New York City Landmark in 2001. Renamed “Casa Belvedere” in 2008, meaning “house with a beautiful view,” the Stirn Mansion is listed on the New York State and National Register of Historic Places.
